Pete Salgado, who was Jenni Rivera’s friend and manager for many years, died on Sunday, January 12, 2023. According to The Limited Times, the causes of his death have not been revealed yet.
Salgado had some differences with the Rivera family after the death of the singer in a plane crash in December 2012. He wrote an unauthorized biography about Jenni, titled “Her Name Was Dolores”, which he sold to a television network to make a series. The family sued him for $10 million, claiming he violated a confidentiality agreement and dishonored Jenni’s memory, according to Courthouse News Service.
Despite the legal disputes, Johnny Rivera, son of Jenni and brother of Chiquis, expressed respect for Salgado’s death on Twitter. He said that his mother really loved him when he was alive and hoped that he could talk to her now.
Salgado was Jenni Rivera’s manager for a decade, until her death. He was also involved in the music industry, managing the MS Band and other artists. He left behind a wife and children, who received condolences from his friends and colleagues on social media.
