This way, Captain America would be Star-Lord’s grandfather.
The theory gained more traction after a clip from the upcoming She-Hulk series leaked online, showing Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) pretending to be drunk and getting Bruce Banner (Hulk) to reveal that Steve Rogers didn’t die a virgin as he had sex with a girl on one of his USO tours. This led to fans immediately believing that the person Cap lost his virginity with was Peter Quill’s grandmother.

Gunn took to Twitter to clarify that Greg Henry plays one of Star-Lord’s grandfathers and that the other would be Ego the Living Planet’s father. Gunn also confirmed that Meredith Quill was born long after Captain America sacrificed himself in 1945 during the events of Captain America: The First Avenger.
Gunn continued to explain to a persistent fan that Quill’s grandfather would have been too young to have fought in World War II. He also pointed out that Laura Haddock playing two roles in the MCU was just a coincidence and not a deliberate connection.
