Who was George Beverly Shea?
George Beverly Shea was a Canadian-born American gospel singer and hymn composer who sang to millions of Christians at evangelist Billy Graham’s crusades. He was often described as “America’s beloved gospel singer” and was considered “the first international singing ‘star’ of the gospel world” . He was also a prolific recording artist and composer, who wrote the music to one of his best-known solos, “I’d Rather Have Jesus” .
