Eddie Garcia was a Filipino actor, television personality, film director and producer who was regarded as the “Greatest Filipino actor of All Time” according to Wikipedia. He had nearly 700 film and television roles to his credit, and was the only individual to be inducted in three categories in the FAMAS Hall of Fame: for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director. He was also the only Filipino to receive the Asian Film Award for Best Actor.
The Fatal Fall
On June 8, 2019, Garcia was shooting a TV series for GMA Network when he tripped from a cable wire and suffered a severe neck fracture. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. He remained in a coma for 12 days until he passed away on June 20, 2019 at the age of 90.
