Lilly Kimbell, a former University of Georgia women’s tennis player, passed away at the age of 31. According to her family, she suffered a heart attack due to some kidney issues. She suddenly collapsed at home and was rushed to the hospital. Despite efforts to perform CPR and save her life, doctors determined she had a massive heart attack. The lack of oxygen left her brain unable to regain consciousness, and she was removed from life support, according to MSN.
A Stellar Career Cut Short
Lilly Kimbell’s four-year stay at the University of Georgia solidified her reputation as one of the greatest athletes in the school’s history. She amassed 197 victories – 109 in doubles and 88 in singles – and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals four times. Additionally, she was a member of the 2014 SEC championship-winning team, according to Sportskeeda.

She was also a graduate of New Braunfels ISD and one of the most decorated high school tennis players, winning four straight UIL Texas singles crowns and leading the Unicorns to three team state titles and a 75-match winning streak.
