That ’70s Show is all set to make a return next year! The only difference is, it will be set in the ’90s.. and the fans’ reactions are mixed.
Set in 1995, That ’90s Show is a new take on the iconic teen period sitcom That ’70s Show that aired from August 23rd, 1998, to May 18th, 2006 originally, on Fox. It was an American TV show set in a fictional location, Point Palace in Wisconsin, that focused on the lives of 6 teenagers in a friend group. It had 8 seasons in all. The time period of the show, if you hadn’t guessed it already, was the seventies!
The cast members included Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Wilmer Valderrama, Laura Prepon, Lisa Robin Kelly, Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, Don Stark, Tommy Chong, and Tanya Roberts.
A fun fact is that this is where Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s love story started! They played an on-again-off-again couple Kelso and Jackie on screen and this chemistry translated into their real lives as well. They are now happily married with 2 kids.

That ’70s Show was among the first few shows of its kind at the time to have amassed such a huge fan following. Maybe that is the reason for the mixed response that the announcement of That ’90s Show is getting. Fans feel like gems like this should be left alone because a sequel will ruin the original or maybe will not be able to match up. Others are very excited by this news though, and can’t wait to relive their favorite moments from the show all over again!
Here’s what we know right now.

IT’S TIME TO SAY HELLO TO WISCONSIN AGAIN!
That ’90s Show will be set in the same fictional location, Point Palace, Wisconsin, as That ’70s Show was.
PLOT
That ’90s Show will revolve around Eric and Donna’s daughter Leia Forman visiting her grandparents (who will be played by Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp) for the summer. Here she will come of age and experience a summer that any other typical American teen would, along with a new group of kids.
RELEASE DATE AND TRAILER
Netflix greenlit the spinoff only very recently in October 2021, so we assume it is still in the very early days of production. Considering how long it takes for a show to be completed and then launched, we can expect That ’90s Show to premiere sometime in 2022!
The trailer will come out a month or so before the release date.
