Brian Muster Cause of Death: AEW Mourns the Loss of Lead Video Engineer

Brian Muster, the lead video engineer for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), passed away suddenly on October 19, 2022, at the age of 36. His death shocked and saddened the wrestling community, especially his colleagues and friends at AEW. Muster was a key member of the AEW production team since the company’s inception in 2019. He had previously worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) from 2008 to 2018.

AEW Pays Tribute to Brian Muster

AEW dedicated the October 21 episode of Rampage to Muster’s memory, with a tribute video that aired at the end of the show. The video featured a photo of Muster with the words “Thank you Brian ‘Mongo’ Muster, we will never forget you.” According to POST Wrestling, AEW also held a moment of silence for Muster before the show started.

AEW president Tony Khan also tweeted his tribute to Muster, calling him “a great man and a great friend.” He added:

“Brian was an integral part of our team since day one, he was always there for us and he always delivered. He was a wonderful person who loved his family and loved wrestling. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.”

Muster is survived by his fiancée and two young children. No cause of death has been made public at this time. A GoFundMe page was launched by AEW technical producer Greg Werner to help support Muster’s family. The page has already raised over $80,000 through over 120 donations, with a goal set for $125,000. Several members of the AEW roster and staff have already donated.

The GoFundMe page describes Muster as “a loving father, fiancé, son, brother, uncle and friend.” It also states:

“Brian was one of those rare people who could light up any room he walked into with his infectious smile and personality. He was always there to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to anyone who needed it. He had a passion for his work and was always striving to learn new things and improve his skills. He loved wrestling and was proud to be part of the AEW family.”

The page also thanks everyone who has shown their support and asks for prayers and privacy for Muster’s family during this difficult time.
